MEET OUR ASSOCIATE LAWYERS
SHANE B. WAGNER
Shane graduated from the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan in 2007. He began working with the firm in 2007 as an articling student. He became an associate lawyer in 2008, with a general practice which includes family law, criminal law, civil litigation, real estate and corporate law.
Shane is a member of the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association (STLA) and was the district governor for the Yorkton area for eight years. He has assisted the Yorkton Regional High School prepare for annual mock trial competitions. Shane is also an active member of the Yorkton Kinsmen.
Shane has made appearances at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court, Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal.
Shane was the 2018 recipient of the STLA Justice W. Frank Gerein Memorial Award, which honors members of the profession who have made outstanding contributions to the legal community through involvement in voluntary and cause-related legal work, demonstrated professional excellence in legal practice and has demonstrated civility in their dealings with other counsel and the Bench.
JENNA L. NIEDZIELSKI
Jenna received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. Jenna first started working for our office in the summer of 2011 after she had finished her first year of law school and returned the following summer after her second year of law school. Jenna graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law with her Juris Doctor (Degree in Law) in 2013.
Jenna then articled with our office after her graduation in 2013 and was called to the Bar in 2014.
Jenna enjoys a general practice, which includes working in the areas of Family Law, Wills and Estates, Labour and Employment Law, Civil Litigation, Residential and Agricultural Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial Law and Criminal Law.
RHIANNON F.L. MONTGOMERY
Rhiannon attended the University of Saskatchewan as an Arts and Science Student for two years before being admitted to the College of Law. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2014.
Rhiannon articled with Rusnak Balacko Kachur Rusnak and was called to the Bar in 2015. She maintains a general practice with a focus on criminal law and collaborative family law.
Rhiannon is the President of the Board of the Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan Inc., a member of the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association, and volunteers her time to the Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan legal clinic.
ASHLEY K. DODD
Ashley was born and raised in the community of Fort Qu’Appelle. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. After receiving her degree, Ashley worked as a Correctional Officer before returning to the University of Saskatchewan and receiving a Juris Doctorate degree with Distinction in 2017. Ashley joined Rusnak Balacko Kachur Rusnak in 2017 as an articling student and was hired on as an associate after being called to the bar in June of 2018.
During her education, Ashley received numerous scholarships and awards, including the Eldon Wooliams Scholarship, the John Trevor Maldwyn Jones Scholarship and the Mary Richiger Prize in Municipal Law. During law school, Ashley volunteered for Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City (CLASSIC) and the Public Legal Education Association through her involvement with the Prison Legal Advocacy Project and the Family Law Assistance Clinic.
Ashley is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association. She maintains a general practice with an interest in Civil Litigation, Labour and Employment Law, Personal Injury, Wills and Estates, Real Estate, and Family Law.
EMMETT T. RUFF
Emmett was born and raised in Yorkton. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Great Distinction in 2014 and his Juris Doctor degree with Distinction in 2018, both from the University of Saskatchewan. Emmett joined the firm as an articling student in 2018 and was hired on as an associate after being called to the bar in June of 2019.
During his education, Emmett volunteered with Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City (CLASSIC) (2015-2017) and received numerous awards and scholarships, including Dean’s List (2012-2013, 2013-2014), the P.E. Mackenzie Entrance Scholarship in Law (2015), the Ariel F. Sallows Academic Excellence Scholarship (2016), and the Douglas A. Schmeiser Prize in Criminal Procedure (2017). Prior to beginning his career as a lawyer, Emmett worked in both economic forecasting and the insurance industry.
Emmett is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and maintains a general practice with an interest in corporate and commercial law, residential and farm real estate, taxation law, wills, and estates.
